WELCOME TO THE 2015-2016 YEAR


Welcome to the 2015-2016 year of the Fantasy Sports Club. This is the third year of the club.

The club will begin having meetings once Eagle Hour starts after Labor Day. The club will meet on Thursdays during Eagle Hour. The first club meeting will be 8/10.

1/29 Silly Little Game

Today we will watch the first half of the ESPN 30 for 30 about the origins of fantasy baseball, and all of fantasy sports. 

This one is a little dry at times, but still pretty interesting.

1/22 First Meeting of 2015

Welcome back Fantasy Sports Eagles.

Today we have a few things to discuss on the agenda:
  • Superbowl Challenge (props)
  • Fantasy Baseball
  • What Club Meetings Will Look Like
First up the Super Bowl Challenge:
  • This will be made up of several fun questions that you will guess on.
  • Whoever gets the most correct wins.
  • I will send out a google form sometime next week with questions as props come out.
  • Meant to be light hearted and fun.

Fantasy Baseball:
  • We will play a pretty fun, more "hardcore" version of baseball.
  • Leagues will be larger than typical fantasy leagues (up to 20 people).
  • Rosters will be larger as well.
  • We will play roto style.
  • Scoring will be 5x5.
    • Hitting Categories
      • Batting Average
      • Runs
      • RBI's
      • Home Runs
      • Stolen Bases
    • Pitching Categories
      • Wins
      • ERA
      • WHIP
      • Saves
      • Strike Outs
  • Roster Rules will be following:
    • 2 Catchers
    • 1 First Baseman
    • 1 Second Baseman
    • 1 Third Baseman
    • 1 Shortstop
    • 1 Middle Infielder (2B/SS)
    • 1 Corner Infielder (1B/3B)
    • 5 Outfielders
    • 1 Utility Player (any position)
    • 9 Pitchers (of any make up of Starters and Relievers)
    • 2 Bench Spots
  • I will print out rankings and other resources as they come available.
  • Draft will move quicker than NBA ones did (or else).

Club Meetings
  • Meetings will have some sort of program each week if there is not club business or draft to attend to.
  • Meetings will not be a "catch-all" for funny business and what not.
  • If you wish to just shoot the breeze with someone or talk, try to find somewhere else.

Fantasy NBA League

Leauge Details

  • 12 Team Max Per League
  • Leagues are Head to Head (you play an opposing team each week)
  • 13 Total Picks for the following positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, Bench, Bench, Bench.
  • Scoring categories are as follows: Field Goal Percent, Free Throw Percent, 3 Point Made, Points Scored, Total Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocked Shots, Turnovers.

  • Leagues will be on yahoo.com. You must have the app on a smart phone on join on an outside computer due to school firewall. 
  • Drafts will start as soon as leagues are formed and lottery is drawn.
  • Draft orders are serpentine.

Welcome to the Fantasy Sports Club 8/20

Welcome to a new year of the Fantasy Sports Club. Remember that if you are interested in joining to click on the link attach to the top of the page for the google doc sign up. You must be logged in to your google student account in order to access the doc, and not a personal account.

I look forward to getting to know all of you, and getting our football league up in running once eagle hour has begun. Enjoy yourselves, and if you are lucky, you will earn a spot on the 'Wall of Champs.'

Section 1. Fantasy Sports Club

ARTICLE II: Organization

Section 1. The Liberty North Fantasy Sports Club shall be sponsored by Zach Osborne.

ARTICLE III: Objectives and Activities

Section 1. The objectives of the Liberty North Fantasy Sports Club shall be:

• To allow students to analyze statistics in a competitive way

• Allow students to engage in deeper level thinking by analyzing sports

statistics

• Create an environment of healthy competition and camaraderie

• Introduce students to potential post-secondary hobbies

• Use statistical formulas to determine predictive patterns amongst

professional athletes

• To allow students to interact with each in negotiations with one and other

to find fair and equitable solutions

• To give students an opportunity to think creativity and uniquely in order to

gain a competitive advantage amongst competition

ARTICLE IV: Motto

Section 1. The motto of Liberty North Fantasy Sports Club shall be:
